Re: Directory of Asian Theological Libraries
; 3rd ed.
You may have already heard that the Forum of
Asian Theological Librarians (ForATL) intends to revise the
Directory of Asian Theological Libraries (DATL), which was
previously published in 1993 and 2002. The revised edition
was to be launched in early 2006, but this did not come to
pass due to various circumstances.
Delegates at the 4th ForATL Consultation then
unanimously agreed that the DATL3 project was important and
should be revived with a new deadline of 2009. They also decided
that the format of publication and dissemination should be
reconsidered with wider accessibility and economical costs
in mind.
Data collected for the planned 2006 publication
is now outdated and, as such, we are circulating the survey
form once again. We humbly request your assistance to fill
in the form and to return it by fax, post or email by 31 December
2008 to:

The DATL will help disseminate information about
your library and thus
• provide the basis for networking among
Asian theological libraries
• indicate the location of special collections and resources
available
• enable ForATL to plan assistance for Asian theological
librarians
You will find that the survey is now much simpler
than the previous one, and a completed form has been enclosed
as an example. If you are unable to provide all the information
required, simply fill in whatever you can, but please, PLEASE,
do fill in the questionnaire and send it back to me.
