TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 6th ForATL WORKSHOP
and CONSULTATION 2012, PHILIPPINES
Dear
Colleague Librarians,
We
would like to invite you to participate
in the 6th ForATL Workshop and Consultation
of the Forum of Asian Theological Librarians
on the theme: “Asian Theological Librarians
Moving Forward Towards Global Partnership
and Collaboration”. Details are as
follows:
Date: April 10-14, 2012 (5 days including
travel)
Venue: Siliman University, Dumaguete City
Negros Oriental, Philippines

Cost:
U.S. $180/person (Php 7,500.00- inclusive
of conference fee, board and lodging)
Conference fee: Php 1,500.00 (U.S. $ 36.00)
The 6th ForATL Consultation and Workshop
aims to accomplish the following objectives:
to further strengthen theological librarianship
networking and collaboration with related
institutions beyond Asia; to consolidate
the resource-sharing projects and plans
from the ForATL 2009 Consultation Workshop;
to identify and learn the library’s
“Best Practices” done in theological
libraries in Asia and beyond; to achieve
global networking through project collaboration
initiatives between theological libraries/library
associations in Asia and beyond; and to
provide global access to Asian Theological
Resources through digitization, etc.
We
welcome the participation of individuals
and institutions/organizations who share
our aims and who would be committed to giving
effective time and effort to the work of
ForATL. A registration form and tentative
timetable are enclosed for your consideration
and action. Subject to the decision of the
ForATL Executive Committee, and upon the
recommendation of the regional representatives,
a limited number of subsidies for travel
and fees are available upon request to selected
delegates.
We
would greatly appreciate an indication of
your interest and availability by December
15, 2011. More information will be forthcoming
as various details are finalized.
